List Of Diseases

Acidity

The stomach normally secretes acid that is essential in the digestive process. This acid helps in breaking down the food during digestion. When there is excess production of acid by the gastric glands of the stomach, it results in the condition known as acidity. Dyspepsia, heartburn and the formation of ulcers are some of the symptoms.

The stomach, intestines, and digestive glands secrete hydrochloric acid and various enzymes, including pepsin that break down and digest food. The stomach must also be protected from the same acid and enzymes, or it too can be attacked by the gastric juices. The acid may enter the lower part of the Oesophagus (Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux), due to some weakness in the normal sphincter mechanism that prevents such reflux. This causes heartburn. It commonly occurs after meals and is brought on by excess intra-abdominal pressure like lifting weights or straining.

Homoeopathic Treatment
Homeopathy offers a selection of remedies for the treatment of heartburn and painful acid reflux symptoms. Homeopathy works by giving a tiny dose of a remedy whose characteristics are similar to those of the person who needs that remedy. The remedy stimulates the individual’s own vital force, or immune system, encouraging the body to heal itself.

Asthma

The word ‘asthma’ is derived from the Greek meaning ‘ panting’ or ‘labored breathing’. Asthma is a condition characterized by a paroxysmal wheezing respiration dyspnoea (difficulty in breathing), mainly expiratory.

TYPES
» Allergic (extrinsic/ atopic) Asthma :
This type of asthma usually starts in childhood and is often preceded by eczema. But most of the young adults (<35 yrs) developing asthma also fall in this category. Genetic factors also play a significant role i this. In this type of asthma the allergen leads to production of excessive (IgE) immunoglobulins.

» Infective or Intrinsic Asthma :
This is not hereditary or allergic, but may be caused by, or at least associated with upper respiratory tract or bronchial infection which is usually viral.

» Emotional Asthma :
Psychological factors (like anxiety, emotional stress etc) are often considered to be the sole cause of some asthmatic attacks, but it is still not certain whether it can be the sole cause or is only a precipitating factor.

» Occupational Asthma :
This can occur in certain industries in which there is exposure to metallic dusts (esp. platinum salts), biological detergents, toluene diisocyanate, polyurethane, flour and dust from grains etc.

What ever may be the cause, it ultimately leads to paroxysms of bronchial obstruction produced by widespread bronchial spasm accentuated by plugging of the bronchi with excessive mucus.

Homoeopathic Treatment :
Homeopathy is a system of medicine which tries to ‘cure’ this disease, instead of trying to provide symptomatic relief. While dealing with a case of asthma, a homeopath not only records the symptoms of the disease but also studies the medical history, family history, physical and psychological characteristics of a person. This helps to find the cause, the precipitating factors, and the hereditary tendency etc. Of special interest to a homeopath is the history of suppression of skin disease. Homeopaths believe that when there is a tendency or predisposition for a disease – it first manifests on the less vital organs, towards the periphery (like skin). If this manifestation is suppressed than the disease shifts inwards, towards the more vital organs (like lungs, heart, brain etc).

There are lots of medicines in homeopathy for asthma symptoms and it is not possible to list them all here.

Arthritis

Arthritis is a general term for numerous conditions that affect bone joints; scientists do not know exactly what cause arthritis. Some think the disease is genetic-something that is inherited from your parents. Other think arthritis is caused by infection, obesity, bone damage, or another disease. Regardless of the cause or type of arthritis, people with arthritis experience chronic pain and swelling in their joints.

Arthritis and rheumatism are among the commonest forms of chronic disease and, with an aging population, are set to become commoner still. Strictly speaking, arthritis means disease of the joints, while rheumatism is disease of the soft connective tissues which support and move the joints. In fact, the distinction is often artificial, since many of these conditions affect both the joints and connective tissues.

Homoeopathic Treatment :
Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using holistic approach. This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the sign and symptoms from which the patient is suffering. The aim of homeopathy is not only to treat arthritis but to address its underlying cause and individual susceptibility.

Appendicitis

Appendicitis is a term which is used for “inflammation of the appendix”, a small tube of tissue that connects the beginning of the large intestine, usually at the lower right side of the abdomen. Appendicitis is the most common reason for emergency abdominal surgery.

People who have family history of appendicitis are at increased risk of developing appendicitis. If this condition is not treated properly on time, it can lead to severe complications.

Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, the main cause of appendicitis is blockage of opening of appendix by mucus or fecal material. Other causes mainly include infection y bacteria and swelling of lymphatic tissue within the appendix.

Autism

According to the Autism Society of America ” Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain, impacting, development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Both children and adults with autism typically show difficulties in verbal and non- verbal communication, social interaction, and leisure or play activities. Autism is one of five disorders that fall under the umbrella of pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), a category of neurological disorders characterized by “severe and pervasive impairment in several areas of development.”

Brain Diseases

» Amnesia :
Amnesia is described as loss of memory, memory loss may occur after damage of the brain called the temporal lobe, which is responsible for processing, memory storage, and recall.

Diagnosis of amnesia can be done mainly by physical examination, and an imaging test such as MRI, blood test, and urine test.

» Alzheimer’s disease :
The most common cause of dementia, this chronic condition is characterized by irreversible memory loss, disorientation, speech and balance problems, and decline of the intellect. Symptoms of Alzheimer’s vary from patient to patient, in early stages, the patient notices increasing memory loss that may be selective, often accompanied by some loss of previously well – established memory and a worsening short term memory.

» Epilepsy :
epilepsy is the most common brain disorder in the general population. It is characterized by recurrence of seizures, cause by outburst of excessive electric activity in part or the whole of the brain. The majority of individuals with epilepsy do not have any obvious or demonstrable abnormality in the brain.

» Autism :
Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain, impacting, development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Both children and adults with autism typically show difficulties in verbal and non- verbal communication, social interaction, and leisure or play activities.

» Stroke :
stroke is damage to the brain from blockage in blood flow and loss of blood from blood vessels in the brain. A lack of oxygen and glucose flowing to the brain leads to the death of brain cells and brain damage.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the main bronchial tubes-the bronchi-caused by a bacterial or viral infection. It may develop suddenly, following a head cold (acute bronchitis), or it may persist or return regularly over many years, causing progressive degeneration of the bronchi and lungs (chronic bronchitis). Certain people are more susceptible than others.

Acute bronchitis is usually caused by a virus, such as the rhino virus, which causes the common cold, although sometimes it may be caused by bacteria such as Chlamydia.

Chronic bronchitis, part of the spectrum of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), IS THE MORE serious disease; it is defined as persistent cough sputum (the liquid secretion that comes up from the lungs when a person coughs) on most days for at least three months and for at least two successive years.

Homoeopathic Treatment
Homeopaths consider bronchitis as either transient acute illnesses, or, in their chronic manifestations, as part of the constitutional picture of the patient. If these conditions rarely occur for the patient, they may be treated as acute illnesses and given homeopathic medicines that are only to be taken during the course of the infection. If the infections are recurrent, however, it is necessary to delve more deeply into the case in order to find a medicine that will help the whole person and prevent, or at least decrease, subsequent episodes.

Cholera

Cholera (also known as Asiatic cholera or epidemic cholera is an acute enterotoxin-mediated gastrointestinal infection caused by the gram negative bacillus Vibrio cholera, It promotes fluid and electrolyte loss and, possibly, hypovolemic shock, metabolic acidosis, and death. A similar bacterium, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, causes food poisoning.

Cholera can be mild or even without symptoms, but a severe case can lead to death without immediate treatment. The diarrhoea and vomiting brought on by the infection quickly leaves the body without enough fluid. The following dehydration and shock can kill a person within hours.

Homoeopathic Treatment
There are a good number of very effective homeopathic remedies that can rapidly control the diarrhea and vomiting, he remedy, potency and dose would depend on symptoms/modalities and condition of the patient, which a homeopath can easily look into.

Children’s Diseases

Many of the most common illnesses of childhood can be quickly and effectively treated at home with homeopathic medicines. The homeopathic approach is growing in popularity as an alternative treatment for hyperactivity in children. Homeopathy is gaining recognition in the conventional field of medicine and has been subject to many clinical trials. Homeopathy is ideal for babies and children as it is a gentle yet highly effective system of medicine. Children respond wonderfully to simple homeopathic remedies. The mildly sweet pills, powders or liquids are easy to dispense and are more palatable than many conventional medicines. Homeopathic remedies are safe to use in the very young, including newborn babies.

Homeopathy is very effective in autism, rickets, bone disorder, dentition problems, Tonsilitis, Diarrhea, Motion Sickness, weak memory & many other child related diseases.

We have special tonics for children for their physical & mental growth.

Dental & Gum Diseases

» Dental caries
Dental caries, also known as tooth decay or cavity, is a disease wherein bacterial processes damage hard tooth structure (enamel, dentin, and cementum). These tissues progressively break down, producing dental caries (cavities, holes in the teeth). Two groups of bacteria are responsible for initiating caries: Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus. If left untreated, the disease can lead to pain, tooth loss, infection, and, in severe cases, death.

» Tooth abscess
A tooth abscess or root abscess is pus enclosed in the tissues of the jaw bone at the tip of an infected tooth. Usually the abscess originates from a bacterial infection that has accumulated in the soft pulp of the tooth. Abscesses typically originate from dead pulp tissue, usually caused by untreated tooth decay, cracked teeth or extensive periodontal disease. A failed root canal treatment may also create a similar abscess. It may also develop from bacteria entering a tooth filling and multiplying. A pus taste may also develop.

» Gum disease
Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. It is a major cause of tooth loss in adults. Because gum disease is usually painless, you may not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on our teeth.

There are three stages of gum disease :
Gingivitis : this is the earliest stage of gum disease, an inflammation of the gums caused by plaque buildup at the gumline. If daily brushing and flossing do not remove the plaque, it produces toxins (poisons) that can irritate the gum tissue, causing gingivitis. You may notice some bleeding during brushing and flossing. At this early stage in gum disease, damage can be reversed, since the bone and connective tissue that hold the teeth in place are not yet affected.

Periodontitis : at this stage, the supporting bone and fibers that hold your teeth in place are irreversibly damaged. Your gums may begin to form a pocket below the gumline, which traps food and plaque. Proper dental treatment and improved home care can usually help prevent further damage.

Advanced Periodontitis : in this final stage of gum disease, the fibers and bone supporting your teeth are destroyed, which can cause your teeth to shift or loosen. This can affect your bite and, if aggressive treatment can’t save them, teeth may need to be removed.

Homoeopathic Treatment
The scope for homeopathy in dental practice is broad. Help is at hand for a range of different ailments people commonly experience – pain, discomfort, inflammation, bleeding.

Homeopathic prescribing in dentistry may be either acute or constitutional, or a combination of these. Acute prescribing is a treatment specifically for the disease or ailment. Constitutional prescribing involves analysing a person’s temperament, disposition and behavioural tendencies. It is possible to prescribe one medicine to suit the general temperament or psychological state of a patient and another for the physical problem the patient is experiencing.

Eye Diseases

» Conjunctivitis
Inflammation or infection of the membrane that lines the eyelids and coats the surface of the eye (the conjunctiva), this condition is often referred to as “pink eye”. It may be caused by a virus, bacteria, allergy, or irritation. If caused by an organism, this is highly contagious.

» Uveitis
Inflammation of the uvea, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid, this is often related to an autoimmune disorder, infection, or exposure to toxins. Often, only the iris is inflamed. This is called iritis.

» Blepharitis
A common inflammation, Blepharitis produces red-rimmed appearance of the margins of the eyelids. It’s frequently chronic and bilateral and can affect both upper and lower lids.

Seborrhic Blepharitis is characterized by formation of waxy scales and symptoms of burning and foreign body sensation.

Staphylococcus (ulcerative) Blepharitis is characterized by formation of dry scales along the inflamed lid margins. Which also have ulcerated areas and may be associated with kerato-conjunctivitis sicca, a dry-eye syndrome.

» Corneal ulcers
Corneal ulcers usually occur when the cornea has been injured and germs enter the injured eye and cause an infection. The germs may be viral, bacterial, fungal, or may be a parasitic infection.

» Myopia
Diseases of the eye in which close objects are clearly visible while distant objects are blurred. Also called nearsightedness.

» Strabismus
The eyes are not aligned together, and eyes point in different directions. One or both eyes may turn inward, outward, upward, or downward. The ability of the eyes to focus is not fully mature at birth.

» Cataract
The most common cause of corrective vision loss, a cataract is a gradually developing opacity of the lens or lenses capsule of the eye. Cataract commonly occur bilaterally, with each progressing independently. Exceptions are traumatic cataracts, which are usually unilateral, and congenital cataracts, which may remain stationary.

» Diplopia
Diplopia or double vision is defined as seeing one object as two and may be monocular or binocular. The sudden onset of diplopia is a dramatic event and therefore a cause for great anxiety and concern.

» Photophobia

Photophobia is an eye disorder in which is eye is unusually sensitive to light, and the aversion to sun light, which causes extreme discomfort in the vision.

Homoeopathic Treatment
Homeopathic remedies can be quite helpful for your eyes and overall health. Homeopathy uses natural ingredients from either plants, minerals or animals in a highly diluted form. The concept is that “like treats like”, meaning that substances in nature taken in whole form can cause or mimic certain health problems, but taken in extremely diluted form help the body heal from those same problems.

Female Diseases

» Dysmenorrhea :

Dysmenorrheal is defined as painful menstruation that prevents women from performing normal activities.

It may also be accompanied by other symptoms, including diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache, and dizziness. Dysmenorrhea may be caused by a clinically identifiable cause (secondary Dysmenorrhea) or by an excess of prostaglandins, leading to painful uterine muscles activity (primary Dysmenorrhea).

» Chronic pelvic pain :

The term chronic pelvic pain refers to noncyclic pelvic pain (not solely associated with menstruation) that lasts for 6 months or more.

» Menorrhagia :
Menorrhaiga is the term used to describe menstrual disorders characterized by regular bleeding with blood loss more than 80 mil per cycle or prolonged menstrual bleeding more than 7 days.

Many conditions can be associated with menorrhagia: pelvic pathology (uterine myoma, adenomyosis (endometrial glands located in the muscle of the uterus that cause pain and abnormal bleeding).; foreign bodies, such as intrauterine device (IUD),; systemic diseases (coagulopathy, hypothyroidism); and dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

» Amenorrhea :
Amenorrhea is defined as absence of menstrual bleeding which is traditionally categorized either primary (no history of menstruation) or secondary (cessation of menses after a variable time).

Gonadal dysggenesis is an important cause of primary amenorrhea. Although most women with this disorder present with primary amenorrhea, in some patients may have residual follicles, may menstruate or indeed may ovulate. These events may be followed by complete cessation of periods.

Secondary amenorrhea is most often due to chronic anovulation. The causes of secondary amenorrhea can be following :
Hypothalamic dysfunction (functional amenorrhea)
Ovarian failure
Pituitary origin
Androgen excess
Primary uterine disease
Chronic illness.

» Women Infetility :
Worldwide, about 10-12% of women ages 15 – 44, or about 86.1 million women, have problems getting pregnant or carrying a baby to term.

Women Infertility Causes

Infertility may be caused by an underlying medical condition that damages the fallopian tubes, interferes with ovulation, or causes hormonal complications. These medical conditions include :
Pelvic inflammatory disease
Endometriosis
Polycystic ovary syndrome
Premature ovarian failure
Uterine fibroids

» Polycystic ovary syndrome :
Polycystic ovaries are characterised by the presence of many small cysts (fluid filled swellings) around the surface of the ovaries. The cysts are quite small ranging from 2 to 8 mm.

Polycystic ovaries are usually larger than normal ovaries and their central substance is generally more dense. Patients with PCOD have abnormal levels of hormones that result in irregular menses, infertility and certain masculine changes in the body.

Various hormones of the body operate in harmony to regularize smooth functioning of all systems including the reproductive system.

The disturbance of hormonal mechanism makes the ovaries produce excessive amount of the male reproductive hormones (androgens) and at the same time there is failure of egg formation. This excess of androgens with absence of ovulation may cause infertility.

Homoeopathic Treatment

Homeopathy works on a deep, not a superficial level: We don’t believe that the cause of a woman’s problems is due, bottom line, to an infection, growth, hormone, or neurotransmitter, but rather to a fundamental imbalance of the vital force, the underlying energy system of the individual. Simply put, if you are in balance, you will remain as healthy as your body can possibly keep you. If you are out of balance, you will develop problems, depending on your particular susceptibility. This vulnerability

Homeopathy is scientifically and clinically the best and safest mode of treatment for Infertility. Since Infertility can be caused due to various reasons, regular follow ups and counseling are very important for the patients.
